Dogs Available for Adoption

Arlo

Female Mixed Breed (working breeds)
Date of Birth: 7th February 2020
Adoption Fee: $500
Size: Medium
Microchip number: 956000012163833
Source Number: RE100027 We are looking for a very special home for Arlo. She is quite a catch with so much going for her we're sure she'll have a lot of prospects.
Not even a year old yet and her manners are great. She is toilet trained, walks nicely on lead, travels well in the car, knows sit and stay and has some additional little tricks up her sleeve. For a working breed mix she's lower energy and is happy with a daily walk and some playtime. Around the home she is cheeky but knows the rules.
Arlo loves a bit of luxury and insists on being the centre of her person's world. She'd prefer to be the only companion animal in the home and can be funny with some female dogs. For this reason she isn't suited to visits to off lead dog parks. She is well behaved indoors and is used to sleeping inside over night. She would prefer a home where she isn't left alone for very long periods and where there are no young children.

Reggie

Male Australian Cattle Dog
Date of Birth: 15th January 2020
Adoption Fee: $500
Size: Medium
Microchip number: 956000007459852
Source Number: RE100027 SPECIAL NEEDS: Reggie has very strong breed specific traits and needs an owner experienced with the breed and understanding of their sometimes challenging nature. He can be shy around some strangers and can panic if they crowd him or force him to be handled too much. He is not suited to a home with younger children and would only be comfortable around older children if they are very respectful of his boundaries. He is fearful of most dogs he meets especially males. Not suited to a home with small dogs, cats or other small animals.

Young Reggie is looking for a more rural home away from the hustle and bustle of the city. He needs humans who are keen to maintain good manners in him and provide him with plenty of exercise, company and mental stimulation. He lacks some confidence and relies on his people to be in charge and encourage him to be more relaxed.

Reggie is a social and friendly dog with most people he meets. He loves going for walks, hanging out with his people and getting up to mischief. He can be strong willed so needs his person to set good boundaries and stick to them. While adults are his favourite thing he'd prefer a home without kids.

Sadly Reggie had limited dog interactions as he was growing up and so is now fearful and wary around most other dogs. He has met a couple of dogs he is happy to play with but needs careful introductions. For this reason he is not suited to off lead activities in public areas.

Reggie is a smart boy and can learn quickly especially when treats are on offer. He is eager to please but has a cheeky side that he can't help bring into his training sessions. He has learned to walk nicely on lead, he travels well in the car, has some basic manners and we have started crate training him. His toilet training is nearly there with the occasional accident. His inside manners are improving every day.

Holly

Female Bull Arab
Date of Birth: 25th December 2018
Adoption Fee: $500
Size: Medium
Microchip number: 956000007828491
Source Number: RE100027 Beautiful Holly is looking for a loving home where her people are keen to continue her training. She's young, friendly, social and active - an ideal companion for a fun loving family. Holly enjoys daily walks, plenty of time with her people and definitely wants to be allowed to sleep inside. She loves meeting new people and being where the action is. Although she can cope for periods of time alone she is not suited to a solitary life in a backyard. Holly is toilet trained, walks nicely on lead with the aid of a halti and travels well in the car. She loves the rough and tumble play of a big dog and can be too much for some. For this reason she is not suited to off lead dog parks. She would love a suitable playmate in her forever home but they must be up for plenty of rough play. She is not recommended for a home with cats, chooks or other pocket pets. Due to her size and strength she isn't suited to home with very small children.

Mia (On trial adoption - no more enquiries please)

Female Cavalier King Charles Spaniel
Date of Birth: 21st September 2008
Adoption Fee: $350
Size: Small
Microchip number: 956000001641629
Source Number: RE100027 Special needs: Mia suffers from mild separation anxiety and therefore needs a home where she is included in day to day activities and rarely left alone. While she is in good health she is an older girl and will need suitable care for her age. Mia is a social and friendly girl looking for a loving home where she will never feel alone. She is still active and enjoys daily walks and exploring the garden. She has a gentle nature and is suitable for a home with gentle children or where children regularly visit. Most of her life she has had a doggy companion and would like one in her new home if possible. Mostly she just wants her own person to snuggle on the couch and follow around during the day. Mia is toilet trained, walks well on lead and travels quietly in the car. She is well behaved around the home and enjoys socialising with visitors. She can be vocal at times, especially when left alone, so is not suited to living in an apartment on where some noise from a dog would be a problem. Mia is a real sweetheart and quite a catch. We don't expect her to be with us for long.

Millie (On trial adoption - no more enquiries please)

Female Kelpie
Date of Birth: 20th September 2018
Adoption Fee: $500
Size: Medium
Microchip number: 956000005656805
Source Number: RE100027 SPECIAL NEEDS: Millie can be very wary and fearful of strangers. Not suited to a home with lots of visitors coming and going. Not suited to off lead dog parks. Prospective adopters must be confident and have experience with very intelligent but wary/fearful working breed types. Prospective adopters must be committed to an active lifestyle and ongoing socialisation and training. Millie is your typical super intelligent Kelpie looking for a job to do and her place in the pack. She wants a home where her people are active and love spending lots of time with their canine companion. She would prefer a more rural lifestyle with plenty of space to enjoy a game of fetch and not too much hustle and bustle to stress her out. Because of her fear of strangers she needs managed introductions and to be given the space and time to suss them out and develop trust. Millie has great manners at home and out and about. She is toilet trained, mostly well behaved inside the home, prefers to sleep inside at night, travels well in the car and walks nicely on lead. She doesn't jump up and is respectful of her people's property. Her recall needs work and she would benefit from ongoing socialisation with other dogs. While she is ok around children she doesn't like a lot of visitors to the home so might not be a good family dog. Her herding instincts make her unsuitable for a home with cats or chooks unless you have a lot of experience training working breed dogs in this area.

Didge (On trial adoption - no more enquiries please)

Male Australian Cattle Dog

Didge is quite a character and an absolutely awesome best mate for the right person. He comes with some quirky behaviours, a cheeky personality and a great sense of humour. He's an individual with a huge personality and some entertaining tricks as well. Didge has some great manners for a dog with such a strong personality. He is toilet trained and walks beautifully on lead. He is well behaved inside the home, travels well in the car once he's settled and has good recall when it suits him. He is friendly and social with most people but has a wary and anxious tendency around strangers so can panic if they crowd him or get too familiar too quickly. The more he trusts you the more he lets you do but when he has had enough he will let you know and it's wise to listen. Didge loves fetch and will grab the most unusual objects to play with if there's no ball around. He is known to collect the biggest stick while out walking and to collect rocks from the bottom of the local creek. He loves a daily walk but doesn't need a lot of exercise. Once inside he settles nicely and enjoys relaxing on the couch in the evening. While Didge is able to share his environment with other dogs he has little interest in playing or interacting with them. He isn't really a companion for another dog. He's too much of a people's dog. He isn't suited to a home with cats or other small animals.

Riley (On trial adoption)

Male German Shepherd x Border Collie Date of Birth: 25th October 2019
Adoption Fee: $500
Size: Large
Microchip number: 956000012183233 Source Number: RE100027 Young Riley is looking for a safe and loving home where his humans are active and love spending time with him. He has a friendly and social nature, loves meeting new people, is super smart and is a quick learner. He can be sensitive at times and is happiest with a calm, patient, understanding and confident owner. He hasn't had much exposure to the world and can become anxious in new and unfamiliar environments. Riley came to us a little under socialised and was somewhat awkward meeting dogs. He has improved while in our care and now enjoys play with most dogs he meets but he can be a little vocal through a fence. He's proving a bit of a star with his training too. He walks well on lead with an experienced handler but is still struggling to ignore passing cars. He travels nicely in the car and is getting better at his impulse control. He's super affectionate and demonstrates a strong tendency to loyalty. He is still getting the hang of toilet training but should master it soon enough. Given his size and exuberance he is not suited to a home with young kids.
